Locally grown Indian rosewood (sissoo species). We call is "quadruple bookmatched": we glue two narrow billet pieces together (from same slab) then resaw it. This gives two halves of a top with a glued seam in the middle, but the halves are unglued. So this wood has sort of been twice rescued! AZ rosewood is luscious-- a very warm light brown with beautiful grain contrasts. This set has an interesting pair of knots (which may need resin on one side) which you can highlight for a unique feature, or avoid if you bookmatch the other edge. Lovely rich grain!
