Locally grown Indian rosewood (sissoo species). We call is "quadruple bookmatched": we glue two narrow billet pieces together (from same slab) then resaw it. This gives two halves of a top with a glued seam in the middle, but the halves are unglued. So this wood has sort of been twice rescued! AZ rosewood is luscious-- a very warm light brown with beautiful grain contrasts. Some planer check marks here/there (see pic). Beautiful top at a beautiful price.
