What do we have here?! Arizona grown microtheca eucalyptus. This was from a narrowish board that was too gorgeous to not make work, so we quadruple bookmatched it. But then it was slightly narrow (we were thinking electric bass, originally), so we glued 2 additional pieces for body width. I know. Desperate. But LOOK at it. Great curl. Some cracks but managable. Support local grown! and the price... Dang!

Arizona Eucalyptus (microtheca variety). This was a piece from a local tree that was not very wide, so we re-sawed it twice then quadruple bookmatched it! That gives a big variety of striping and grain color. Rich red-browns and tans and browns. Very Earthy! Zoom in to see all the details. Very unique and absolutely one of a kind! Locally grown!

Gnarly alert! Or... BEAUTY ALERT. A local Arizona eucalyptus burl wood (from the cap of a burl). Let us explain: The piece was an odd shape, but we got a couple good cuts out of it. This bookmatched (unglued) set comes with a 3rd piece leftover from the resawing, and 3 smaller pieces (no extra cost). At 14.75 inches (see pics) the boards taper down to about 3.75 inches wide. But you might be able to work around that. Orrrrrr, you can use the extra cutoff pieces (they're around 0.3 inches thick) to mosaic a patch. The spare cutoffs are about 8.5 inches in length, and can also be used for headstock veneer. With some creativity, this amazing eucalyptus burl (which is rare) will make a stunning one of a kind instrument. Like, REALLY!
